A New Addition to the Abdella Household!

Wednesday, February 25th

We are still waiting to hear on a second opinion on the removal of Aaron’s mass from his kidney.  He took a day off from work and went down to Miami.  He sat in the doctor’s office for two hours.  When he finally got in they could not find his x-rays.  So, we had to resend them and they arrived today.  We are all waiting to hear.   I will update the blog with the information as to the date of surgery, time and where so that you can all be praying.

As you know we lost our sweet dog Zach right after Christmas.  Our daughter and many of our other friends kept urging us to get another dog.  I was dragging my feet not feeling the energy for a new puppy.  Any of you that have trained a puppy know what I mean.  Yet, I felt a huge emptiness in our home and sadness without our boy.  So, after praying about it and the constant urging of our friends I started searching the internet for another Maltese.

After much searching I realized how expensive they are.  So our friends from Ohio told us to check up there as they would be happy to buy him and bring him back down.   While searching I kept running into this picture of a 4 month old Maltese.  I thought, I don’t want an older dog and he’s a male.  Since Zach was a male we felt that we should get a little girl.  Well by the fourth time I bumped into his picture I felt a strong urge to hit “contact owner”.

I asked her why she was selling him at that age and she said that he was going to be too little to show.  Then I wrote back to tell her the I was interested.  I later learned that she had a lot of people interested but no one had felt right to her.

After my email she went to lie down and prayed.  After waking up God prompted her to Google my name.  Well guess where she ended up?  Right here on my blog.  She wrote in.  While this was going on Leo and I were out and I told him about the dog but that I put it in God’s hands and if it worked out fine if it didn’t than he wasn’t the one for us.  When we arrived home I looked on my computer and this is what she wrote:

Dear Candy,

I consider it a privilege to stand with you in prayer for a complete
recovery. And I have a little boy here that will give you lots of love and comfort on your journey back to good health….

When Leo and I got home and read this we were in tears.  To think that God loves us so much that he even works things out to get you a dog.   I know that this was lengthy but felt that it was important to tell you how involved God is in our lives.  He’s there in the big things and the little things.  He works through friends, family and even strangers.

I pray that if you do not have an in depth relationship with Him that you seek Him through His word.  There are so many wonderful bibles out there now that we can understand.

All our love to our family, friends, new and old.  Thank you for your love and continued prayers.

Tyler is 6 months old, will be about 4 pounds and is flying down in our friends jet and arrives on Saturday.  We are like new parents and we are so excited.

Blessings,

Candy

More Prayer Needed!

I have not written in a while as we have been dealt with another health attack on our family.

Several weeks ago I encouraged our 31 year old son, Aaron to see Dr. Crandall to have a check up.  Aaron has had high blood pressure on and off since he was 15 years old.  I thought that as he was getting older he should be checked. They did an MRA and the doctor said that they have found something suspicious in his LEFT KIDNEY (same as mine).  Then they sent him for a CT scan with contrast.  They have found a solid mass.

He was referred to a nephrologist for evaluation who has now sent him to my urologist surgeon Dr. Borland.  Dr. Borland said that because of the makeup of the mass they can’t do a biopsy because if it is cancer it would leak out into his system.  The kidney needs to be removed.

We are stunned as you might imagine.  We can’t believe that this is happening.  What are the odds?  He has gone for a second opinion which he should have in a few days.  We are praying over Aaron and thanking God that it was revealed as he has had no symptoms.

Dr. Borland told us that kidney cancer’s sometimes only produce symptoms when it’s too late.  Fortunately he says that Aaron’s looks completely contained and he should be fine.   Please be in prayer and stay tuned to my blog as I will be updating as we progress down this road.  It has been suggested that this surgery take place in the next few weeks.  If any of my family or Leo’s is reading this if you know of any family history of kidney problems, please contact us immediately.

On another note, I have some great news to share with you.  Last week I went back to Dr. Borland for my three month checkup.  He performed a cyscopy which looks up into my bladder to check for cancer.  He gave me an all clear sign!  I don’t have to go back for six months.  This is a great relief because they said if it spread that this would be the first place to go.

I continue to do my Beth Moore bible study.  It has really drawn me closer to God and His word.  I just love the Psalms they really speak to my heart.

I want to thank each and every one of you for your prayers.  Only when you are on the recipient side do you realize just how important they are.

Blessings,

Candy
